Varanasi : Varanasi has been witnessing an overwhelming crowd since the conclusion of the Maha Kumbh. Devotees visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple have also been attending the evening Ganga Aarti in large numbers. Given the increasing crowd, a meeting between the Ganga Aarti organizers and the district administration decided to conduct the Aarti in a symbolic manner. However, starting today, the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat will once again take place in its full grandeur.
According to information received from the Ganga Aarti organizers in Varanasi, the world-famous Ganga Aarti is being conducted in its grand form from February 27 onwards. Earlier, due to safety concerns and the excessive gathering of people beyond the ghat’s capacity, the Aarti was being performed symbolically.
Now, the Aarti is being conducted once again in an elaborate and mesmerizing manner in the presence of seven priests. To manage the crowd, the organizers have also increased the number of volunteers. Starting today, 20 additional volunteers will be stationed at Dashashwamedh Ghat during the Ganga Aarti to ensure a smooth experience for devotees.
Crowd Situation in Varanasi Returning to Normal
Following the completion of the Maha Kumbh, the crowd situation in Varanasi is gradually returning to normal. Previously, large numbers of pilgrims traveling from Prayagraj’s Maha Kumbh were seen at various ancient religious sites and ghats in Varanasi. However, from February 27 onwards, a noticeable reduction in crowd density has been observed on highways, urban areas, and different religious sites, indicating a return to normalcy.
